Huge Bejeweled Diamond Ring for Bejeweled Fan: Perfect Match
PopCap Games recently held a contest asking players to share interesting stories involving the company’s Facebook and downloadable game Bejeweled Blitz. The winner was a hardcore fan named Laura Sheriff. Her story? Her competitive gamer boyfriend Chris proposed to her after failing to beat her high score of over 600,000 points. He told her that he knew “it was meant to be because she beat his score.” Her prize?
It’s not really made from a diamond, but it is still a touching and funny gesture from a company to a fan. The gift was made even more special because PopCap gave it to Chris and Laura for their 1st wedding anniversary on October 10, 2011. This means the two got married on October 10, 2010 (10/10/10), which also happens to be the 10th anniversary of Bejeweled. You can’t make up stuff like that.

Portraits of Dogs as They Shake Off Water
For her series “Shake“, pet photographer Carli Davidson photographed curious portraits of dogs shaking off water. Use a fast shutter speed and you can capture all kinds of strange expressions on your dog’s face.

Add another body to the pyre of useless USB port innovations, Maxell's "AromaDrive," a line of scented flash memory sticks.
Reader Anson said he did a double-take when he spotted these in Shopper's Drug Mart. "Finally, I was wondering when someone would invent this," he writes. "Oh wait, no I wasn't."
At first I thought that the drives were like Glade PlugIns for your computer. Nope, they're just regular flash drives coated in scent-laden plastic.
The USB drives are available in 1GB, 2GB, 4GB and 8GB, Apple, Strawberry, Chocolate, Lemon, Orange and Mint. And at $25 for a 4-gig stick, this smells like a bad deal.

Rabito Case Makes Your iPhone Look Like a Deranged Easter Bunny
I dare you to buy one of these iPhone cases and whip it out during a business meeting to take a call. I kid you not – the Rabito iPhone 4 Case has big bunny ears and a fluffy cotton tail.
It’s sort of like that scene in A Christmas Story where Ralphie has to put on the outfit that Aunt Clara made for him, except your iPhone is Ralphie and Rabito is its aunt that labors under the delusion that your iPhone 4 is not only perpetually four years-old, but that it’s also a girl.

Oops: iPad Engraving Error From Apple Gives an ASCII Cat 4 Ears
Thinking about engraving your new iPad with some custom ASCII art? Watch out, you might end up with a few extra appendages on your ASCII drawings.

This is obviously a mistake in the engraving process and I found it hilarious – yes I’m easily amused. The recipient of the engraving error could probably complain and have it redone properly, but it sounds like they have a good sense of humor about it and don’t mind the mistake. Here’s their quote from Flickr:
Thought I’d have something subtle and cute engraved on the back of my iPad. Instead Apple wanted me to have something more original and mutant-like.
If you didn’t know, custom engraving is free with any new iPad 2 purchase bought online through the Apple Store, it usually adds about a day onto shipping time. Current delivery times on the iPad 2 are 1-2 weeks, and they’re still nearly impossible to find in stores, so if you’re going to be waiting you might as well get an engraving too… just be careful of that ASCII art.
